The Rotary Club of Canterbury provides thousands of dollars in funding each year for commuinty project, both here and internationally. The Wear the Wattle badges (previously named ‘Aussie Pride’ badges) and the sales strategy were in need of a revamp to help them better engage with new and existing customers. The project resulted in a final presentation to the club were the new name was unvieled to the member, and was undertaken with Stephanie Luk and Anh Huynh.

THE BRIEF

After a significant amount of research into the audience and competitors, we suggested a name change for the fund-raising badge. We found that the name ‘Aussie Pride’ has some negative connotations in Australian culture, and we wanted be able to really shine a light on all the good the badges did. We took a more welcoming approach through softer imagery that evoked classic Australian themes and an updated communication strategy that focused on using their positive impacts as the key sales pitch. We also developed a communication strategy that allowed them to better engage with their customer.
